Are you involved or interested in making rural communities ‘greener’?
And do you live or work in the South Downs and Low Weald area of West and East Sussex?
If yes we would like to hear your views……
Partners in the Sussex Downs and Low Weald area have the opportunity to make a bid for money to support a range of activity to develop the rural economy and support rural communities over 2008-2013. The money would come from the European Union through something called the LEADER programme.
We have formed a ‘Local Action Group’ to take this forward, which includes representatives from public sector organisations like the local councils and Natural England, local colleges, the voluntary and community sector, local businesses and business networks, all with an interest in supporting the rural economy.

There is a
consultation survey that can be printed off and completed or a Microsoft
Word version that can be completed and returned electronically. There are different sections relating to the different themes of the proposed bid. These are:
